Description

During this workshop, participants discover the principles of spectroscopy, an essential technique in astronomy for analysing the light emitted by stars. Through experiments, observations of light spectra and hands-on use of spectroscopes, they learn to decipher the information hidden within light.

By comparing different spectra, they will understand how astronomers identify the chemical elements present in the Sun, stars or nebulae, and how they can deduce certain physical properties, such as their temperature or composition.

Observe, experiment, analyse… and discover how light reveals the secrets of the Universe.
